FOOD AND DRINKS OF SAN ANDRES.

The seafood and fish are the specialty at the table san andresana: seafood, shrimp, crabs and snapper are the basis of the delicious recipes from the region. 

For seasoning recipes, coconut and its derivatives become culinary stars. English Heritage left on the island herbs such as cloves, cinnamon and ginger, which give the island cuisine bursting with flavor. Accompany dishes with coconut rice, tostones (fried green bananas), cassava and yam.








RONDÓN: 
It consists of a fillet of fish, snail, cassava, yams, pigtail, baked banana and domplines (flour tortillas), bathed and cooked in coconut milk with pepper. Definitely a gastronomic experience which can not fail to enjoy. It is perhaps the best known dish typical of San Andres.

FISH BALL:
Any kind of fish can be used to make fish ball (meatballs): parrotfish, snapper, bream and even black crab. The secret is to remove the thorns and season well with tomato, onion, garlic, salt and species are preferred, then fritarlas. Definitely a delicious typical dish of San Andres.

BREADFRUIT:
One specialty is the fruit bread, which is served fried or cooked as an accompaniment to various foods. It is eaten when it is still green and has not matured to better enjoy the taste.

SOUP AND DISHES OF CARACOL:
Definitely has strange sea food delicacies, impacting their base, but that delight the palate of locals and visitors who come to the island of San Andrés and tested. One of the richest foundations in dishes is the snail, which can find the following dishes:

DESSERTS:
In the afternoon, after lunch, you can find women who exhibit and sell traditional sweets of the island as coconut candies and coconut balls are a delight to experience. Also fruit juices and cakes squash, corn and bananas are very popular.
